Lake Bunyonyi just has to be one of the most serene and picturesque lakes, in what are commonly referred to as the Great Lakes Region in Uganda. Literally translated in the local language as, the Lake of little birds, it is indeed a bird watchers haven. Ha’Buharo Island, ’The Island of Bird song’ is without a doubt, Lake Bunyonyi’s gem and is probably the most deep-seated location to begin a bird watching safari. Scores of bird species can be regularly spotted during a leisurely stroll on the island and for an extended bird watching safari, a traditional motor boat can be organized to the neighboring Islands and swamps.
